The CitiŽ Bronze
AAdvantage MasterCard, one of several CitiŽ AAdvantageŽ credit cards offered
by Citibank, is designed for those with average credit who travel regularly on
American Airlines.
Through the reward program, cardholders earn one mile for every two dollars
spent on the card, which can be redeemed for free travel via American Airlines
and its participating partners. Cardholders receive 5,000 bonus miles with their
first purchase made with the card. There is a maximum of 25,000 miles that can
be accumulated each year, of which have no expiration as long as there is
account activity at least once every three years.
At first glance, it may be difficult to distinguish between all of the CitiŽ
AAdvantageŽ credit cards due to their close similarities. The Bronze card
differs from the others as it has no annual fee and offers no extraordinary
benefits or services to cardholders aside from the reward program. It is
important to note that although the card has no annual fee, the mileage awarded
is about half of what is normally provided by an airline reward card.
Aside from the reward program, cardholders can expect several standard benefits
that include travel accident insurance, no liability for unauthorized
transactions made with the card, and Internet account related services.
Therefore, those who would like an airline reward card with no annual fee and do
not plan to spend more than $50,000 on the card a year (due to the yearly limit
on miles), will benefit most from what the CitiŽ Bronze AAdvantage MasterCard
has to offer.
